Farm Happenings for November 2, 2021

Posted on October 29th, 2021 by Lisa Duff

It's very windy and rainy today...we need the rain but it's time for the tunnels to take center stage!

With Fall upon us, less daylight hours and lower temperatures it's time to tend our tunnels. We have beautiful Bok Choi coming from the tunnels again this week and we want you to have it. Last week's recipe is an Oak Spring favorite - check it out and wow your family by serving this side dish with asian flare. Some arugula and spicy mix sweet has been coming from the tunnels as well as radishes. We have lettuce and even some peppers still in tunnels. There is an experimental bean planting under cover as well so we'll see....

Please take our survey if you haven't already. I have read every response that has come in and it is wildly helpful. Thanks for letting me know what you value and appreciate and what is less important. Click this LINK for the survey!

Thanks to all who auto renewed! Makes life simpler for everyone. For those of you who have not yet signed up for 2022, no worries, we have plenty of room. Egg and fruit shares are selling out fast so if you want in on those sign up now!

Spring shares are ready and waiting for currently enrolled members. Spring shares were not auto renewed-you must sign up!

Spring shares are only 7 weeks long with egg and cheese add-ons. Don't miss out!

Cheese share: Horseradish

Bread share: Olive bread

Storage tip:

  • Carrots, parsnips, turnips, beets, and radishes can be stored in a plastic produce bag and will last 2 weeks. Best to remove the tops as soon as you get them home. The greens on the radishes and turnips are beautiful this week-use them in a braising mix, sautés with garlic or make radish pesto!
