It's farm clean up this time of year. Rolling up row cover and drip tape, storing wire hoops, tomato trellis, and taking some time to reorganize our tool shed and storage areas after a busy summer. We clean tools, oil handles and assess their fitness for next season. Take inventory of what we have and what we'll need for spring. We prep beds in the tunnels as we take out the cherry tomatoes, peppers and eggplants , plant the last of the cover crops, protect the overwintered crops and pick up leaves!
It's a great time of year...winter is coming which means a slower pace and a bit of a break for the farmers.
The light this time of year is soothing and calming to me. I breath more deeply and take slower steps around the farm.
We have beautiful fall crops coming in...the broccoli is coming...really, it is.
Have a bountiful week,
Lisa
