Happy Spring!
And here we are, just like that, with spring goodness.
It has been a mild winter. The concern is that the pests have died off and we will need to keep a close eye on our spring plantings for early signs of pest problems.
The tunnels are bustling with lots of greens.
The overwintered carrots outside are as sweet as can be and I can't wait to harvest them for you.
Our nursery is already full with broccoli, kale, lettuce, celery, celeriac, cilantro, parsley, dill, onions, ginger, tunnel tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, cucumbers AND more.
Tunnel management is a full-time job. When it's sunny the temps go up fast so we may roll the sides up to ventilate when it's just above 40 degrees. We close them every night this time of year as the temperature dips down quickly when the sun goes down.
So that's a quick picture in my life.
Our annual plant sale will be Cinco de Mayo. May 5th this year. Plants are on line now so check them out, daydream what you'd like to grow in your own garden or pots this spring.
Thanks for joining the Spring share, get ready to eat big, beautiful salads, it's gonna be GREAT!
yours in farming,
Lisa
