Hello to Summer and Sunshine Filled Days
The fields are waking up for summer and for the most part, pretty happy. We were spared the heavy rains that went through late last week and now will be focusing on the inevitable weed and plant disease battle as the hot humid air of July creeps in. So far, so good.
If you are member, how are you liking your first few weeks of shares? Have you used the add and swap features? Every Friday you should be receiving an email from the farm telling you what is planned for your upcoming share. At that time you can make changes to your share by clicking the "Swap Items" button in the email. From there, you can add more items (plus sign) or swap items for items not already in your share (two arrows) or remove items from your share (trash icon). This swapping screen is NEW since last season and takes a little getting used to if you were savvy with the old way. The new way is explained in great detail in the Harvie University Article: How Extras and Swaps Work. I highly recommend checking it out if you are having any issues with the process.
This weekend (July 4th) marks the first Appleton Farm Market and we will be launching our Pre-Order system thru Harvie Farm Stand on Wednesday. Folks interested in purchasing from us at farmers market MUST place order ahead of time and pick up their order at our market stand or use the curbside pickup being offered by the Appleton Downtown Inc. We are not going to be offering any in person shopping at our stand. This decision was a tough one but for now we feel it is best for our staff and crew. The Farm Store at Park Ridge Organics UPDATE. In case you missed it, our farm store is now open for in person shopping with only 2 people allowed in the store at a time. We do request that you wear a face covering since the farm store is also part of our pack shed. The store is the best place to stock up if you run low on items between shares or if you are not a member and need a source for local organic produce! Open Monday-Fridays from 8am to 6pm and Saturdays from 8am to 2pm. Closed Sundays. Located at N8410 Abler Road, Fond du Lac.
