Roasted Parsnip Soup anyone? The Harvest Fest and Soup Contest is on Sunday October 7th from 12pm to 3pm and we hope you can join us. It is a great event for the whole family and a wonderful way to come and visit the farm where your food is grown. There will be farm tours, soup tasting, cider sipping and games for all ages.
This event is FREE. Please consider bringing your own soup bowl and spoon for tasting. If you are interested in entering the soup contest, great! Just bring a crock-pot full of your soup by 12:15pm the day of the Fest. Awards will be given for People's Choice, Chef's Choice and Farmer's Choice. Please call or email us just so we know you are bringing soup so we can plan accordingly. We average about 20 soups a year so there is plenty of soup and good friendly competition.
All is well at the farm after the week of mosquito torture. The crew had to harvest despite those nasty things and they lived to talk about it. The crew, not the mosquitoes. I just want to say THANK YOU to them for being such troopers and getting everything harvested so we could all continue to enjoy our veggies!
Until next thyme...
