The frost season is approaching. When temps fall and frost occurs, the plants natural response is to turn starches into sugars to protect it from that frost and cold. The result is sweeter veggies for us! Sugar in the plant is like salt on our roadways. The sugars make it harder for the plant to freeze. Farmers like to call this "frost sweetened". So far, Jack (or Jackie) Frost hasn't been to the farm yet this season but we are anxiously awaiting their arrival.
