Happy Thanksgiving! This year we are hosting Thanksgiving at our house for the first time. It is very exciting and a bit nerve-racking at the same time! We have a much different view of this holiday and the food we are fortunate to have on the table then we did before farming. We now know first hand the amount of time, effort, and dedication it takes to grow food. We are glad you are able to include local ingredients in your Thanksgiving meals from your CSA share with us. We are thankful for your support and for the bountiful growing season this year. Many items available this week fit perfectly into traditional dishes-apples, potatoes, sweet potatoes, fall squash, turnips, and onions to name a few. Please be sure to customize your share to get whatever and however much you need for this special day.
Thanksgiving marks the end of a season for us. The final farmers markets are this weekend and we made it through another busy season. Ben works literally every day beginning the first week of April until now. It is many 100+ hour weeks, nights, and weekends. With things slowing down, it is a time we reflect and begin to plan for next year. We have more family time together, get projects done around the house, catch up with friends, and take naps! We are thankful for the lifestyle we have created and could not do it without you!
