Farm Happenings for June 11, 2019 (week 1)

Posted on June 4th, 2019 by Neil Stauffer

The flurry of activity around the farm this time of year is exhilarating--and a bit exhausting. But this weekend feels like preparation for opening night at the theater. We have been planning and preparing. Now it is time to show you a bit of what we have been up to here at Rivendale Farms.

I wish I could walk you through all of the stages of spreadsheets and seed ordering in the winter, soil preparation and plant propagation in the spring, and now that summer is here--so many diverse tasks and projects in the fields. Hopefully some of you will get a chance to visit the farm this season. But in the meantime, we will do our best to keep you updated via this Friday email newsletter. If there are other people that would like to read along, just let us know. We can add them too.

The items listed for your customized box were based on the preferences you chose in your online profile. You are welcome to change and update that info at any time. And from now until 8pm Sunday night you also have the chance to add or swap items in your box as well. We hope you are willing to try a few new items this year. We choose the produce we grow for many reasons--but chief among them is that we think they are delicious and nutritious.

If you need to get a hold of me, please feel free to reach out via email neil.stauffer@rivendalefarms.com or by my cell phone: 412-956-9873. I'm always glad to hear from members. And if you have a question that we can answer via the newsletter, feel free to submit those ideas too.

We look forward to helping feed your family this year!

NOTE: Please flatten and return empty CSA boxes to your pickup location.
