Hello CSA friends of the farm. How can the season be over yet again? Thinking of the final CSA box of the season seemed so far off just a few months ago. But here we are. Together with you, we've done it. You've supported us through the ups and downs of a growing season; and we've supplied you with thousands of boxes of produce, eggs, flowers, and bread. I don't know about you, but I would say it's been a great exchange. ;)
So to be clear, this is the final box of the season. After Tuesday November 5, there will be no more boxes. Please mark your calendar. If you are able to return your clean/flattened produce box one more time, we will do our best to pick them up (please don't return any other packaging).
We want to say a sincere thank you to our CSA pick up site hosts. This can be a thankless job, but we couldn't do the CSA without them. So thank you, thank you, thank you. We sincerely appreciate your willingness to support the farm!
With the cold weather and shorter days, it now feels appropriate to change gears here at the farm. While we still have a good bit of field work to do before the snow flies, more of our time is spent indoors (and in the greenhouse). There are plenty of clean up projects that now require our time. And within a month or two, we'll be ordering seeds again for next year.
We have thoroughly enjoyed farming for you this season. Your constructive feedback and perspectives were always a welcome addition to our process. We hope you feel free to continue to reach out to us with thoughts and ideas. We do value your input. And while we won't be delivering produce boxes for a while, you can still enjoy Rivendale products this winter by visiting the list of local grocery stores that carry our pints of ice cream.
All the best to you this winter. We will definitely stay in touch about next year!
