Welcome to the first week of Fall CSA!
We are so happy you have joined us for our Fall season on the farm. This is our favorite time of year and although we love all the seasonal transitions that mother nature provides us, fall is the best!
The fall equinox has come and gone and we can feel the change in the air. Typically our first frost on the farm is around October 10th, which is right around the corner. The crew is busy harvesting our storage crops for the fall and winter CSA and preparing our fields for their winter slumber.
Here’s a little snippet of what to expect in your shares this fall:
The Fall season will start off with some of the last of the summer crops like cherry tomatoes and peppers and then we keep plugging along with beautiful salad greens and cooking greens. It looks like we have a good crop of broccoli and cauliflower for the fall as well as cabbages galore!
All the roots will come back in full force for roasting and souping all fall: potatoes, kohlrabi, turnips, radishes, beets, carrots, and sweet potatoes, and even though our winter squash crop failed we will be sure to get some to you from another local farmer.
Thanks for joining us and we can’t wait to see you soon!
