First of all, THANK YOU for your support this season! Members like you are the reason farms like ours can exist. CSA is truly a revolutionary model of farming that has allowed for the small scale family farm to flourish all over the world. Farming is never an easy business, but the community model that CSA promotes can truly make small-scale, direct to consumer farming possible.
Where do your CSA dollars go? Directly to the people who grow your food for you!
One of the goals of CSA is to provide you a direct link to the food you eat. There are very few things that we purchase as consumers where there is no middleman (or several). With CSA, you can talk directly to, and even have a meaningful relationship with, the person or people that grow your food. What a breath of fresh air!
At Robinette, we are marching steadily toward our goal of providing CSA year-round to our community. Our Fall CSA starts on October 24th and we will be providing fresh veggies right up until the 12th of December. We have offered a Fall CSA for several seasons and are excited to continue to expand that option for our Members in the years ahead.
In 2019 we will be offering a limited Winter Share to start in early January and run through late March. Between our micro greens, crops from our high tunnels and greenhouse, storage crops and add-ons from other great local businesses, we think this Winter CSA will be just the pop of fresh, flavorful food our Members crave in the thick of the cold and dark. Spots will be limited as we try this out for the first time, but we can't wait to expand our winter farming skills!
We will continue to be in touch with all of you throughout the winter--giving you updates on the farm, the rundown on where you can find our food in stores and at markets, and of course letting you know as soon as you can get your spot for the Summer 2019 CSA season! Stay tuned!
Happy eating from our family to yours and thanks for a wonderful summer season,
Chloe, Alex, Nina, Roisin and Fiona
And the 2019 Farm Crew: Chris (micro greens), Erika, Diego, Brock, Margaret and Jess, and with part time help from Alex, Zach, and Josie, and our farmers' market crew, Kat, Bailey and Katie!
