Happy Thanksgiving from our hardworking Fall Crew!
I can't believe it's already thanksgiving week! We had a serious cold snap (as I'm sure you all felt) and that has slowed things down dramatically here on the farm. We are pulling the last of the carrots out of the ground this week, finishing up the last of our field clean up and mowing all the crops that didn't survive the single digit temperatures.
It's still project season for us as we continue to work toward completing our new micro greens greenhouse. Our micro greens production manager, Chris, is being patient as we work through completing the radiant floor heat system, assemble fancy greenhouse tables, and make the greenhouse as cozy as can be for winter production. We can't wait to share pictures of the greenhouse when it's in operation!
We wish you a Thanksgiving celebration full of family, friends, relaxation, gratefulness, and of course, amazing food!
This year our family is taking a river trip in Texas with our friends for the Thanksgiving break! We will spend 3-4 days floating on the Rio Grande through a section of Big Bend National Park. We are really looking forward to seeing the landscape, escaping the cold, and having an amazing experience in the wilderness with our kiddos. Pictures to come of course! Erika and Margaret will be doing the CSA distribution this week and will be happy to answer any questions you may have since we will be disconnected for a few days. I'm looking forward to sharing our trip with you when I see you on the 28th!
