Week 2 out of 10!
And a big welcome to the Winter CSA for our bi-weekly Members who are starting this week and the new Members who have signed up in the last couple of weeks!
Thanks for joining us for this "deep winter" eating extravaganza! It's our goal to get you as many fresh green things as possible, as well as a variety of hearty roots from our storage bins for your veggie roasting and soup creations to keep you warm this time of year.
EXTRA PURCHASES FOR THIS WEEK: Cranberry Walnut Chevre Goat Cheese from Dutch Girl Creamery, Le Quartier Bread, Spiritus Vitae Herbal Tea, and Cultiva Coffee Beans and Toddy!
Things have been BUSY this week on the farm!
The weather has been so up and down and for our school district that means that our kiddos have only been in school 2.5 days this week! Yikes. Productivity sure decreases when they are around, but it's fun to have them on the farm!
All of our greens are tucked away safely in the high tunnels and I am getting more beds cleared out and ready for spring planting! This is a fun time to clean out the old and get the new in, but it can also be a little nerve wracking.
This time of the year the soil is very cold, but not frozen in our tunnels. That means when I plant seeds it can take them a VERY long time to germinate because of the cold soil. That can sometimes put this farmer in a bit of a tizzy and you'll see me digging around the soil looking for seeds that are starting to grow...haha!
Slowly but surely things are growing....stay tuned to our social media to see updates on what everything is doing on the farm! (Instagram and Facebook)
If you are new to Harvie and ever have any questions, please reach out to me directly at farmers@robinettefarms.com OR if it is more of a technical question you can also email the staff at Harvie directly at support@harvie.farm. Both ways work great and we are here to help you so you can get the most out of this awesome software and get the veggies that are best for you and your family!
Happy Eating!
