Hello Farm Family!
And welcome to Fall CSA Season!!! Over the next few weeks you can look forward to baby carrots, baby red beets, beet greens, chard, kale, braising mix, asian greens, broccoli, broccoli greens, cabbage, winter squash, scallions, leeks, daikon radishes, watermelon radishes, green tomatoes, and more! Many of these fall crops, like kale and broccolie for example, actually benefit from the cold weather by becoming sweeter in flavor (so yum!). We're putting row-cover on as many crops as we can here to protect tender greens from night time frosts. So far the leaves on the trees is the only green that's turning on the farm but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw snow on the ground before our last delivery! We shall see... In the mean time I hope you all have a wonderful, warm and cozy week!
