Farm Happenings for September 25, 2018

Posted on September 22nd, 2018 by Wouter Sels

Our hibernated crops are slowly coming to an end and we're looking forward to new crops coming in.
Don't miss out on the great selection we'll still have in the mean time: escarole endives in particular have been greatly enjoyed and add diversity to many diets.

We like to saute them with some olive oil and a few nuts, with the addition of a tiny bit of honey - a quick meal done in a few minutes. Our kids love it (and it's great to see them eating these slightly bitter veg).

This season we've chosen to have a bit of a later start. We're aiming for good production from the end of November to the start of December. The combination of the destruction of our greenhouses, reduced access to labor and taking time for the arrival of our newborn has lead to this decision.

We will also be growing a smaller quantity of produce, although still with a diverse range, with only a select amount of spaces for our CSA, the farmers market and a select few crops available at scale for our wholesale customers.

Signups for the new season CSA will be available soon.

Consider signing up for the CSA: we're passionate about being part of the push for economic change and more resilience in our food systems. See our next newsletter for more details and why a CSA share may be a great choice.
