This morning really feels like fall! Hope you have all transitioned smoothly back to school and work after the summer. I am happy to report that we have planted our first 3 or so acres of cover crops for this year, areas of the farm that are finished with production crops and are ready to rest and recuperate for next season. Getting an early start on cover cropping means a better establishment of the crops (in this case, a combination of oats, peas, and clover) to build more fertility and better protect the soil over the winter!
We are also excited to have some new fall crops in the share this week : Arugula and broccoli are back! and the first of the winter squashes are in!
