Only 6 more weeks left in the 2018 CSA share season!! Keep an eye out at the pickups this week for applications for our Fall Share, and extension of 5 more weeks of pickups to get you through Thanksgiving. We are trying something new this time, offering two different size shares. The regular size share is what we have distributed in the past for fall shares, it is a little more than you are used to from the regular CSA, intended to help you stock your pantry and fridge for large holiday family meals, and the long cold months ahead. The smaller share will be for those of you without a lot of storage space who want a week-to-week supply of fresh veggies.
Our winter squash crop is one of the most abundant ever, so we are excited to have a wide variety of these delicious, nutritious, and long-storing fruits to share with you over the coming months. We are going to kick things off this week with a familiar favorite, the acorn squash, and a variety called Sweet Dumpling which has a superior flavor, in my opinion.
