Farm Happenings for September 29, 2020

Posted on September 26th, 2020 by John Zilnicki

Hope everyone had a great week!  We are full throttle on the farm!  We are currently shipping out about 80,000 pounds of potatoes a week to the USDA for meal boxes for the underserved in the city.  It is humbling and rewarding and makes us extremely grateful for what we have and are able to do.

Farm Happenings this week:

  • 80,000+ Pounds of potatoes left the farm this week!!
  • October is here!?!?!
  • Flowers are starting to wind down
  • Cover crops are going in.
  • Lime is being added to the fields to increase the Ph

-We are postponing the Farm Yoga today.  Jackie started getting migraines last night and I know from the past they can linger into the next day.

But, don't worry, we are about 1 week away from having our propagation greenhouse cleaned out and converted to a greenhouse Yoga studio!  This means farm yoga throughout the fall and winter!  If anyone has any tricks or recommendations for migraines please feel free to share, any tips are greatly appreciated!

Enjoy the last week of September!!
