Happy Friday! We started planting our famous Zilnicki potatoes today. However, the day was cut short as our frame on our planter cracked. Luckily we were able to contact professional welders and they helped bandage us back up and hopefully we will be up and running by mid day tomorrow. The sad reality is the planter is 41 years old and like most farm equipment for our local farmers it is severely tired and the feasibility to get new equipment at today's costs is slim to none. So, we weld, fix, and take as good of care with what we have.
Exciting news for our CSA members will be shared this week. I'm ironing out the final details so everything runs smooth, but I highly recommend you stay tuned!! Ok, I'll give a little hint, it's green, smells weird, but you can't eat it.
Stay tuned!!!
