Farm Happenings for September 20, 2022

Posted on September 16th, 2022 by John Zilnicki

We are past the halfway point of September already and I'm not sure how its possible.  I do miss that extra hour of sunlight, as the sun sets earlier and earlier every day.

I'm not sure if you heard about the potential train strike that was supposed to start today.  It didn't happen as an agreement came about with the unions and the government.  However, if this did happen the ramifications would be massive in the U.S..  Most products and goods are transported by train and trailer and we were about 2 weeks away from serious issues to our already weird supply chains.  This is why being a member to this CSA is so important as you have made a choice about food security, food sovereignty, and supporting the local economy.  This dedication by you needs to spread to our fellow citizens, to help grow this mission and ensure continued support for a strong local food economy.  So please keep spreading the word and use your refer a friend link and recourses that are available in your Harvie University recourse center.

Have a great weekend and if your coming out east to enjoy the North Fork and all its activities, make sure you hit the roads early, and do yoga or mediation before (incase the traffic is gnarly).

Your Farmer,

John
