Well we got the rain we were looking for this summer this past weekend and week. It has been a while since we had 5 consecutive gloomy days. Yes we picked up more rain then we would like but, I think the big man upstairs wanted us farmers to have a little more family time. It was greatly needed and I am grateful for it!
Big week on the farm!! Cows have finally arrived! We are extremely excited about adding a cattle portion to our business and continuing our quest for food sovereignty and true food security. We haven't had cows on the farm in 35 years but I really see this being the beginning of a major transition and a major positive component to building up our soils, and crop rotations.
This dream of cows has been 5 years in the making and it is finally coming true.

P.S. Riverhead has is Country Fair this Sunday down by the Peconic river and main street. I have many great memories as a kid going and entering painted pumpkins and vegetables. Defiantly worth checking out. https://riverheadcountryfair.com/
