March is done and April is here! April is the real month things start cranking on our farms as the days get warmer and longer. Our greenhouses are also filling up with plant starts, and nice sunny days it gets up to 80 to 90 degrees, and we imagine we are in Florida.
Our kale is over wintered Kale so the taste is a little different then fresh kale during the season. We find it comes out the best when we cook it down in a pan with some bacon, pork, and actually has a smooth taste.
Our grass fed beef has been absolutely delicious and our next set of cattle is in the works for coming to the farm in late April to early May. We are currently in the process of reclaiming 6 acres of wooded/abandoned land that will be converted to pasture for future livestock.
Farmer Jackie (my sister) will be having her baby some time this week, so all the positive thoughts and vibes for her would be greatly appreciated as were are excited to welcome another baby to the family!
Enjoy the weekend!
Your farmer,
John
