The official start of summer is almost here! That means more and more delicious summer vegetables coming into the boxes like zucchini, carrots, broccoli, and much more.
We picked up a few cute showers this week. They help keep the dust down for a few hours the following day. The potatoes are loving life and growing strong, well the ones we are able to water. Our main irrigation well broke this week so we've been moving large Detroit diesel motors around and trying to set them up. These motors that power our irrigation well are every bit of 50 to 60 years old and our oldest is dated to the 1940's and still runs like a champ.
Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there! I hope it is full of laughs, love, bbq, or whatever you enjoy to do. Where would we be without the strong men that helped forge this great country we call home. Crazy to say, but our country needs strong men now more then ever. To the dads and grandpa's that aren't here any more, we love you and miss you and think about you often.
Have a great weekend!
Your farmer,
John
PS. If your looking for something to do, stop on down to our farmstand and pick out some flowers to plant or check out the Strawberry festival in Mattituck.
