Happy Friday! Looking for your local coffee fix? Check out our selection from featured roaster this month - Uncle Leroy's Coffee! Uncle Leroy's is what you get when you combine Anchorages' Spenard neighborhood with lively, third-wave coffee. They were Alaska's first micro roaster and got their start in a bus! They've since expanded to two locations in Anchorage as their following grows. They roast in small, 2-pound batches, with an emphasis on South American and Southeast Asian beans. This month we're carrying three of their roasts:
ETHIOPIAN SIDAMO: Shade grown. Good body, medium acidity, well-balanced, and sometimes with a hint of fruity and wild taste. Fruity character, light berry notes, medium body and balanced sweetness.
GUATEMALAN: Fair Trade & Organic. This coffee offers an exquisite roundness and pleasant mouth-feel, which can satisfy the most demanding palates. Deep chocolate notes, caramel notes, sweet, citric, complex, bright acidity, full body.
BRAZIL FRENCH ROAST: This coffee delights the senses with the taste of ripe, chocolate-toned fruit without a hint of sharpness or acidity. Moderate aging further rounds its flavor while developing body that is deep, creamy and full. Nutty dark chocolate, low acidity, med/rich body, nice crème.
