We hope that our CSA families stay safe and healthy through this difficult time. As farmers, we turn our focus to working even harder and finding new ways to serve our community. One way we’re doing this is providing a pop-up market on the farm, each Thursday until May 7th, when the Spring CSA season begins. Along with our organic produce, we will offer ready to eat family meals prepared by our culinary team, mushrooms grown by Frondosa Farms and pasture raised lamb from Freedom Run farm. This week, we will also offer a selection of cheese, butter and wine.  

At Ashbourne Farms nothing is more important than the health and safety of our customers and employees. When you arrive on Thursday to pick up your order, please stay in your car and we will bring your personalized items to you.

8 a.m. Monday.   

This week’s offerings from our culinary team:

Entrée

Prime Beef Pot Roast with peas and carrots, parsley roasted potatoes and milk bread rolls. Gluten Free. Serves 6.

Salad

Asparagus and Beet salad with Romaine hearts, toasted Almonds, Kenny's blue cheese and balsamic vinaigrette. Serves 6. 

Soup

Broccoli Cheddar Soup. Serves 6.

Cheese

Capriole O’banon: This cheese has a fresh, light, citrusy taste balanced by the sweetness and delicate flavor of goat’s milk then wrapped in chestnut leaves and soaked in Woodford Reserve Bourbon.

Kenny’s Kentucky Rose: A very simple gently pressed farmhouse-style cheese with a tiny kiss of Roquefort, just to give it a floral and earthy note on the rind. 

Kenny’s Ted: A white cheddar aged in our bleu cave. The result is a well-balanced cheddar with some fruity notes on the nose. As you work your way toward the rind all of that earthy saltiness continues to deepen.
