Our apologies for the late Farm Share email for today! An early morning meeting with a community partner about an exciting upcoming project delayed all usual tasks this morning. More on that in future weeks. :)
Two special notes for you:
1) SAVE THE DATE - Our Annual Farm Share Member Social is on Sunday, October 20th from 2-5pm. We'll send out an evite asking for rsvp's, but please plan to join us for a chance to spend time among the fields that have been providing for you, chat with us farmers, meet other members, and enjoy some nice food and drink. We run this as an "optional potluck" meaning you can bring something to share if you'd like, but feel no obligation. We prepare some food, provide some drinks, and everything always works out wonderfully.
2) We've started a new Instagram page to showcase some of our farmhouse meals. Give BfFarmFood a follow if you'd like inspiration about what to do with the vegetables we grow. We're not food photographers nor professional chefs, but we sure eat well! We'd love you to see what it looks like and get ideas for your meals.
Revel in the options of mid-September today! The lack of rain and above average temps have made our Salad and Lettuce greens grow slower than what our crop plan outlined, so there's less of that available this week than we would like, but greens, fruits (vegetables with seeds inside), alliums, flowers, and breads are all in the mix of possibilities for your share.
Our Winter Share has filled for this coming winter (limited number of shares, limited pick up locations), but sign up for our regular season 2020 Farm Share will open up soon. You members will be the first to know! It will run the way this season ran, from May 2, 2020 through November 21, 2020. We are already actively planning. :)
