We've made the turn into Fall although it sure didn't feel like it this weekend. The leaves are starting to turn their glorious colors and around here they've changed quite a bit in just the last couple of days. With fall we get to enjoy the sweet corn from Bahner Farm and Community Harvest, sweet potatoes from Goranson Farm, cabbage, cauliflower and fennel from Ironwood, and celery and leeks from New Beat Farm. The cooking possibilities are endless, soups, stews, sautes, and roasted veggies are all in line.
The Fruit Share this week is from the Apple Farm
This week we have Honeycrisp Apples and Clapp's Favorite Pears from the Apple Farm in Fairfield being packed into the Fruit Shares. Steve and Marilyn have owned the Apple Farm since 1973, they use IPM growing practices. You can find out more about the farm here: https://applefarm.us/retail-store/
