Greetings Farm Fans -
I don't know about you - but I feel a little like I am trapped in a meat smoker!
The Loyalton fire threatened a few of our farmer friends - but I am pleased to report that both Girl Farm and Prema made it through without significant damage. Air quality is an issue for our farms but despite this setback, we have an amazing selection of produce for you this week!
LETTUCE IS BACK!!! We have 3 different lettuce options including mixed leaf lettuce from Salisha's Delicious and Romaine & Iceberg head lettuce from Desert Farming Initiative. Additionally this week we have stepped up our fruit game with Fallon's famous Hearts of Gold Cantaloupes from Pioneer Farms, Mickey Lee Watermelons and Raspberries from Lattin Farms, and Grapes from Boggeri Farms.
Also this week we have the first of the fall crops with a limited amount of baking pumpkins from Salisha's Delicious! It feels WAY to early to be celebrating the first of the fall harvests - but pumpkins in our farm box means that autumn is right around the corner.
Our Community Food Project is moving along surprisingly well - we have distributed around 3500 lbs of locally grown produce through our partner food pantries in the last 2 weeks! Each of you helps in that achievement through your support of the food hub - and we are so grateful to have you on our team!
