Hello Farm Fans -
Our partner farms are so excited that the solstice is just a few days away! The winter solstice marks the longest night of the year. After December 21st, the days start getting longer--great news for our farmers and their plants. The solstice also marks the official beginning of winter, so technically the storms and snows that have pushed through west central Nevada have been "fall snows".
Last summer, in partnership with the City of Fallon and Travel Nevada, the Fallon Food Hub and Lattin Farms were a part of filming a televisions segment for a German cooking show. We focused on farm to plate and cooked up a vegetarian menu centered around produce that we harvested at Lattin Farms. You can check out the video HERE. It's only about 7 minutes long and it's super fun. Although, I don't think I will ever be comfortable with watching myself on video!
