We seem to say this every week...but, whoa, where did June go...and...Um, Hello July! Wow! Time flies when you're eating good! The farm shares are filling up with lots of wonderful summer-time produce. The corn is starting to ripen, so it won't be too much longer until we see corn, melons and tomatoes! We are sending Red, White and Blue potatoes this week just in time for the Fourth of July. Let Freedom Ring!
It's hard to believe that we are half way through our season! In case you haven't heard, we are going to offer a short Fall CSA and it will begin the last week of September and continue for four weeks. We are not taking sign ups just yet, but hope to have that set up in the next week or so. Stay tuned!
Many of you have asked about our Farm Store where you can buy additional items to add to your share. We are working on that right now and should have it open by Sunday night, June 28th. You can order meat, eggs, pantry items, baked goods and more! Just be sure and choose the correct delivery location so your order will arrive with your share.
We are getting fairly dry and could use some rain. We are hopeful that this week will bring some good soaking showers! The days on the farm are long and hot right now as we continue to monitor the plants and keep them healthy and strong....picking produce for the shares, and believe it or not, we are already starting to plan and prepare for the fall CSA. We have lots of plants that will go in the ground soon in preparation for the fall season. There is never a shortage of things to do!
We are also looking at dates to host our annual Family Farm Day at the Brubaker farm in Scottsville, Ky. This will be sometime in late October or early November. It's always a fun day to spend on the farm!
