Week 2: Our Fall Harvest is Closing In!

Posted on November 5th, 2018 by Featherstone Farm

Hello Members!

We've been hard at work to bring in all our storage crops this fall harvest and we're almost done.  While the largest and most important of those harvests is complete, that of our famous Featherstone carrot, the crew is still working to bring in rutabagas, radishes, turnips and as many fresh greens as possible.  Above, Ben, Steph and Ellen harvest your rutabagas (that is, if you like them!) for future winter shares.

Below are some of our carrot bins that came in from the field.  We've got 415 of them tucked away for your shares and co-op wholesale. That's around 330,000 pounds of carrots!

We've brought in 415 bins like this, totaling around 332,000 pounds of carrots!

And here is your spinach nestled in under our caterpillar tunnels so that we're able to supply your shares in December (and hopefully January) with incredibly sweet and flavorful greens!

We hope you're enjoying the first share delivery and we look forward to packing out this next one, with care and love and especially for each of you!

Gratefully,

Patty, Jack and the Featherstone Crew
