Can you believe that in less than a week it's going to be August! Time certainly is flying here at the farm and this will mark week 12 of shares. We started a bit earlier this season with the offering of Spring Salad Shares.
This is the time in our season when we are planting out the last of our fall season crops (except for those that are a quick turnaround), harvesting, weeding, bed prepping, packing and harvesting. We still have 16 more weeks of the season to go so there's still so much more bounty to come!
You might have noticed that we moved our chickens! I figure this is a great time to highlight the beautiful chicken tractor that Patrick built. It is built on a old refurbished trailer which makes moving it super easy. This allows us to continually rotate the chickens so they always have fresh ground. The coop features custom nesting boxes, solar doors, egg collection system and was built using lots of reclaimed materials. Our flock currently is around 100 chickens and we will be getting more chicks in the upcoming month!
