We had a good coating of snow this morning! It seems like winter came more in March and now April this year. We are busy planting and potting on our starts for the year, and are very excited about some new varieties in produce for 2021. Results from 2020 end of season survey showed us that more variety would be appreciated, and we are working to do just that for you this year!
We still have openings for our 2021 CSA. If you have already signed up, we thank you for returning! Your support of local, organic, regenerative agriculture is greatly appreciated!
We started growing microgreens this winter. We will be offering them in our CSA this season. I have some brassica mix(kales, broccoli, pac choi) mix microgreens ready now. I will be harvesting these on Monday, and they will be available for pick-up On Farm on Tuesday from 10 am to 6 pm. We will be trying various microgreens throughout the season. We started peas as microgreens this week, and they will be available in about 12 days. If you try the microgreens, let us know what you think of the varieties, as we will be "dialing in" customer favorites.
I have attached a Microgreen facts/recipe ideas sheet incase you have not yet tried microgreens. They are nutrient dense, and a great flavor addition to salads, stir fries, and starchy foods.
Happy Spring!
