Hello Friends, and welcome to WEEK SIX! The smoke and heat have had an effect on everyone here at Perigee Farm- the dogs are spending as much time as possible flat on our cool floors, and the farm animals are all moving a bit slower. My days have been spent keeping the plants and animals watered and cool during this second heat wave of the summer. Despite the heat, I worked to harvest and maintain a large order of flowers for a wedding on Friday- did you know white dahlias can get sunburned? Me neither! And luckily, this week there will be none of those in your shares. Those of you that got beautiful cardoon blossoms last week will see fluffy pink dahlias mixed with a few other treasures this week, and those who had dahlias will get a cardoon. I am so excited to share these unique blooms with you all, as they are truly one of my favourite garden weirdos- and the pollinators just adore them too. If you don't see me this week at the farm- just make sure you grab a bouquet that is different from last week. -Clare
