Happy Friday and thanks for doing your rain dances this week as we got some much needed rain last night and more today. Finally the week has come that we have corn and cantaloupe. This is the latest we have had corn in years but also this is the first time in my memory of recent times that we had temperatures in the 30s on mothers day weekend. The production team lead by the head farmer here my dad Bob and my brother Bobby have been working around the clock watering during this high temps and no rain period to keep things moving along at the farm. Hats off to those guys. In addition to corn, cantaloupe will also be making its debut this week as well as bell peppers. Chef Patterson is back at it this week and is making zucchini bread.
I will personally be on vacation this week, honeymoon to be exact. My wife Andrea and I were planning a trip to the Netherlands this April for the annual tulip festival but you all know what happened there. So we pulled an audible and are heading to Montana and Wyoming to visit Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and Jackson, Wyoming. I will have my phone and laptop on me so if you have any issues or questions feel free to text me at 304-553-2951 or email me whichever is easiest for you and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
I hope you all have enjoyed your produce so far and are looking forward to another great 8 weeks of the season.
