Hello Everyone!
We have noticed that there are a number of new farm stand members. Welcome! We will try to keep the farm stand up and running year round for shopping from Saturday afternoon - Tuesday morning with pick up and delivery options on Friday and Saturday. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or feedback about the process.
We are continuing to slowly put our outdoor gardens to bed for the season by getting them all ready for planting and then covering them with mulch or tarps to protect the soil from erosion. We have cut back and transplanted a few hardy crops into the winter greenhouse beds to see if they will continue to produce for all of us over the next few months. We still have a few summer crops flourishing under cover like ginger and peppers and kale, collards and Brussels sprouts just keep growing outdoors. It looks like we still have a few weeks where it is mostly above freezing but cold enough at night that they will be delicious. If there is time, we will blanch and freeze as many as possible for some extra goodness in the months ahead. Last winter we found that those little bags of frozen kale, eggplant and peppers added so much fresh flavour to so many dishes (pizza, stir fries, pasta...).
For our kombucha customers, we have a new bottle return process. You can continue to return bottles by leaving them out at the time of your delivery or leaving them in your farm stand pick up bin. We will issue a credit to your Harvie account for each bottle return.
