Hello!
Reminder: please come out to the farm next Saturday August 17th for our summer farm tour and pot luck from 3pm-7pm. We'd love to see you.
It's hot. It's dry. The farm landscape is changing over. We have more plantings of broccoli, Napa cabbage and kale and a few more plantings of lettuce. Fields that were full of peas, mini broccoli, early greens, onions and garlic are being prepared for fall crops. Newly prepped beds are now in rows of tiny carrots, leafy beets, and rows of a wide variety of the color green: kale, mustard greens, arugula, tatsoi, broccoli rabe. These tender greens do best in spring and fall when the weather is cooler and the flea beetle pressure is down. Fall peas, radishes and beans have been direct seeded, awaiting rain. We harvested hundreds of pounds of potatoes this past week! The peppers are turning color, hot peppers coming on and the eggplant and tomatoes are still going strong.
We hope to see you next Saturday at the farm!
