How about the weather this week?
Warm weather like this has its ups and downs in farming.
It's nice to have but warm weather is hard on the cool season crops. And the warm winter didn't rid us of many pests either. We found our first flush of cucumber beetles feasting on our squash seedlings today and our early arugula, mizuna and kale have been decimated by flea beetles.
Yes, it's raining most of the weekend but WE NEED RAIN. I've decided not to curse or argue with Mother Nature. She rules. And she always wins.
But that's the way it goes. We recover and learn.
Remember our plant sale is this Sunday from 10am-1pm.
Get the best selection of everything we have here at the farm...and get a few gardening questions answered from one of the farmers.
Hope to see you soon!
Cheers,
Lisa
