With only 2 deliveries left in the Standard Season, we are definitely feeling the season shift around the farm. I am always checking my weather apps and was a little taken aback yesterday when the 10 day forecast shows 3 inches of snow for Halloween Day! WHHAAATTT? So to adjust, we are now on a "hurry up and dig it" kind of schedule here at the farm.
I am often asked "So...do you just take the winter off then and not work?". I politely (or as nice as possible) reply that this is definitely not the case. In fact, as a seasonal business owner my task list gets really long this time of year. From financial planning to promotional gigs, the winter is a very busy time of year.
Jeff and Becky (farm managers) and I spend lots of hours looking over the seasons highs and lows and making big decisions about the season to come. From variety changes to overall crop additions/eliminations, we look at our Harvie data and our harvest yields and adjust as needed. This comprehensive planning makes us the farm we are. We adjust to members preferences and accommodate as needed so that people can have the best share experience possible.
So with that I just want to say STAY WARM and don't forget that NEXT WEEK (OCTOBER 31st, Nov 1st & 2nd) are the LAST DELIVERIES for the regular season.
