Sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts and Apples OH MY! Welcome to our extended season shares. Personally I love this time of season and the veggies we harvest for the fall and winter shares. Yes, it is LOTS of roots but roots are so versatile. They can be used in a wide variety of ways: raw, roasted, boiled and fried. Try doing all that to lettuce!
We do recommend that if you set your preferences low for roots in the Harvie system, you might want to reconsider since most of the share items are roots. You can go in and change your preferences at any time\, just log into your Member Profile and click My Preferences. If they are set too low, you risk not getting the value in which you paid for your share since our offerings are limited to what we have harvested.
For the Late Season Shares we purchase in some items to increase variety among the offerings (apples, honey, syrup, etc). We will indicate where the items is from in the item name and tell you if it is not certified organic. Unless an item says it is not certified organic, you can assume it is certified organic. We stand by all of our offerings and know that you will not be disappointed.
Thank you for eating local longer and supported us in the extended season.
Let the roasting begin!
