Welcome to Week 6!
The rest of July (and the beginning of August) is a lot of re-planting, mowing, and the final weeding of many of our longer crops. Believe it or not, we're close to being at the top of the season--which means we're slowly starting to see shorter days, and the cycle of weeds slow down. We've been trellising and re-trellising our tomatoes in the high tunnel, which seem to grow over night. Looking forward to getting everyone the start of those this coming week. Promises to be a good tomato season thanks to the tunnel, so get ready to eat tomatoes into October!
Pictured is a pasture we finally finished up fencing this past weekend. The farm is lucky to have a 5 acre section of woods. During the heatwave, we put the sheep in part of this pasture. Now that its fully fenced, they're chomping away on grass, blackberries, and all sorts of little shrubs and bushes. Sheep heaven.
See you at pick up this week
