Greetings from the farm! We are very thankful for the rain! Yesterday we were able to work the soil and plant more broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, spinach, lettuce, salad mix, arugula, radishes, and turnips. Tomatoes and other summer crops will be finishing up in about a month as we welcome fall growth. New on the menu is our first picking from the fall planting of swiss chard. Its looks fantastic and can't wait to try some myself. Kale and Collards should be ready next week along with squash, zucchini, and maybe cucumbers.
If you would like to preserve tomatoes or corn for the winter, the time is now! We have bulk tomatoes available-seconds, firsts, and Romas (San Marzanos-the best sauce tomato!). Farmer Joe has lots of excellent sweet corn that is picked fresh. We are offering it by the 100 count for you to freeze at a great price. Take advantage of these offers while they lasts!
We are picking up a new load of fruit from the orchard tomorrow, including blackberries, peaches, plums, nectarines, apples, and pears.
As always, be sure to customize and add to your share to get exactly what you want!
Be Healthy,
Farmer Ben
