Hey there,
This post has a little less to do with produce and the meat grown on the farm, and more about our farm friends and companions.
If you follow our farm on social media at all you may have seen pictures of our sweet little pups. Scout, the mother, is a Maremma, a type of Livestock Guardian Dog, the big white fluff balls you would see guarding sheep. We got her from our lovely older neighbour who kept these dogs for just that purpose. Aside from her big, barky presence to help deter predators, she is a gentle giant who lays around all day like a large warm rug, often sitting so close to the wood stove in the winter I'm surprised she has never caught fire. She is also welcoming to strangers and other dogs, which with the CSA members popping in, and guests coming to the bunkie, is perfect.
The reason I gush about our main lady, is because she had puppies in May and they are ready to be placed in their forever homes. We have 3 males and 1 female left of her litter of 8 that still need to find homes. So I am reaching out for some help in spreading the word.
The dad is a Boxer that also lives on the farm. We rent out some space to his family, and he is also a very handsome boy. These pups weren't planned, and they are the cutest things you've ever seen, if I do say so myself. So if you, or anyone you know is thinking about adopting a pup, keep these fluffs in mind.
Thanks again,
