Hey there,
A beautiful week gone and another ahead! Cooler nights and dewy mornings, though getting a bit dry out in the garden, have been to irrigating a little bit for the new transplants and younger veggies help them through the heat, and it looks like it will be a hot one this week. A photo of our little fluffs out in the grass, they are now trained to follow the coop as we move it to a fresh section every day, and as they get bigger and poop more, possibly twice a day.
Another fun part of the coming autumn is the fruit. We team up a little with Amma Canada, a group that does humanitarian work around Georgetown and internationally. One of the neat parts of this group is that they run an orchard just outside of Georgetown where they donate hundreds of pounds of fruit to pantries and food banks in the area, as well as sell the fruit to put money back into community programs.
So over the next few weeks we will have pears and then apples from this orchard available in the shares, as well as at the market. If you are looking to do some serious saucing or pies, let me know, they also sell bushels.
