Hello. Hard to believe, but this is the midway point of the CSA season. We are thankful to have such supportive members along for this experience of eating seasonally from the farm.
Those of you who will be getting a CSA box the week of Labor Day should have received an email from us this week ("Update: CSA Delivery Date Change to Sept. 4"). We want to let you know that the deliveries will be on Wednesday September 4 (instead of Tuesday the 3rd). If you want to reschedule that box to a different week, you can do that via your online Harvie account. Or feel free to reach out to me if you need assistance.
Thanks to the members who were willing to make the trip out to the farm last weekend for our CSA member event (this week's pictures shows a glimpse of the event). We feel like it was a success! We had the chance to meet and chat with many familiar names that we had never met before. We also got to show folks around the farm so they could see the land where our team of farmers are growing their fresh foods. We don't have a second event planned, but it's not hard to imagine another one happening again in the future.
How did those of you who had them enjoy your edamame beans last week? We hope that was a fun experience of pulling the beans off the plant and eating them as fresh as possible.
On the logistics side of things, we just want to thank all of our CSA site hosts. These volunteers help make the CSA happen, and we really appreciate their help. As members, we encourage you to be as respectful as you can of their property. A little bit of TLC goes a long way in making sure the CSA experience is a positive one for our hosts too.
Have a great week,
Farmer Neil, on behalf of the crew
