It's the final week of the Spring CSA!
Thank you all for joining us for this greens and roots heavy season in Nebraska. We hope you have enjoyed all the fresh micro greens, salad greens, hearty roots, and fresh tender roots for the past 8 weeks.
We are looking forward to beginning the transition to the Summer season!
We have 1 week of NO CSA the week of May 29th. If you are part of the Summer CSA, the first delivery begins the week of June 5th.
We hope you have a wonderful Memorial weekend with your friends and family to kick the summer off right!
The crew has been working hard all week to catch up on our field plantings before the rain begins on Friday night. This week we planted the first of the zucchini, summer squash and cucumbers, basil, fennel, napa cabbage, carrots, beets, salad greens, spicy greens, head lettuce, radishes, bok choy, and broccoli raab!
Our high tunnels are now completely planted to the first early peppers (carmen and escamillo) and the first early tomatoes --- YUM. We can't wait for these fruits to start producing - look for these in late June (fingers crossed!).
This year, it's looking like we've got a decent planting of sugar snap peas and snow peas (these were a crop failure last year) and we are excited to have these special treats in a few weeks.
Lastly, we have just a couple more tickets available for the first Farm Dinner of the year; if you're interested be sure to check in quick and see if you can get in! We are partnering with Prairie Plate Restaurant for the food and Glacial Till Vineyard and Winery for the drinks. It's going to be a fun event and I can't wait to see everyone there!
Don't worry, if you're out of town or just can't make it to this event, we are planning a couple more of these this summer so stay tuned!
Have a wonderful couple of weeks farm friends!
