Some of you know that our family mostly eats local/seasonal food. For the past three years we have aimed at about 80% of our food being home-grown or locally sourced. We allow for one personal exception for each member of the family (for the benefit of all) and one household exception (all spices). For example, one of our children has chosen bananas as her exception, so the whole family can eat bananas. The only catch is that if that child decides to switch her exception, no one else will be able to eat them.
