This week marks the summer Solstice! June 21st is the longest day of the year with over 15 hours of daylight!
Kind of crazy to think that after that date the days progressively get shorter.
All that daylight means that our plants are really putting on some growth.
It’s amazing that when I don’t have a chance to walk through the farm for several days the change that happens in that short of time.
That’s what fascinates me about growing food! Everything is always changing rapidly.
There are a couple different items available this week. I was able to get some carrots out of the ground from the last bed in the high tunnel. I am also hoping to get at least one moderate harvest of sugar snap peas picked before they die out due to the hot weather. I have lots of baby Bok choy; both white and purple. We are still in that greens zone until the fruiting crops start ripening.
Please enjoy whatever you get. It's the healthiest food around!
