My 2021 growing struggles continue.....Looks like I am not going to be able to get summer squash and zucchini until later in the season….
I lost the first planting of nearly 75 plants in the hail/wind storm in early June. I was able to replant and those plants although, apparently healthy early, the plants are struggling and in really poor shape.
I believe they are suffering from either a water problem, soil-borne problem, or a herbicide problem from the compost I obtained; Not good!
I have sent off for some testing and I am in the process of planting the 3rd set. Unfortunately, they take time to grow which means it'll be weeks before they produce. Frustrating...
Succession planting is taking place to fill in fall and storage crops. Lots of beets, carrots, head lettuces, bulb fennel, and cabbage have been planted.
I am still patiently waiting on the fruiting crops to well produce fruit, mature fruit.
