Hello! Good things are happening out at the farm. Our potatoes are finally ready, all of our greens are doing really well, and we have lots of beautiful cabbage that we're harvesting for you this week. It's a good time to be a farmer and a good time to be an eater.
I want to thank all of you who are making adjustments to your delivery schedule to accommodate your vacations. I know a few of you are running into problems from time to time based on the browser you are using. If you do run into problems please email me and support@harvie.farm and we will get things straightened out for you.
In the even that you do miss a pick up, there is still a chance that I can get you your veggies. I do, however, need to know as soon as possible. Please text or email me (403-506-3634) to let me know. If you can let me know the same day or the morning after I can usually make arrangments for you to get your veggies.
This is the time of year to make the most of the abundance of the garden. At home, we're finding new ways to eat more and more veggies. My wife MacKenzie has been throwing greens/herbs/cabbage into the instant pot with a little bit of chicken broth and making these wonderful stews that use up a tonne of veggies. A slow cooker would do the same thing. We got through a whole cabbage, bunch of kale, bunch of parsley, two bunches of garlic scapes, and radish greens in one meal that included lunch the next day. Hopefully with a bit of creativity we can all increase the amount of good fuel we are putting in our bodies and make the most of these amazing vegetables.
